The Honors College redefines interdisciplinary education by inviting high-achieving students from across the liberal arts and professional schools to live and work together to tackle global issues and learn how to transform their ideas into action—Curiosity. Knowledge. Purpose. The Honors College Academic Excellence Fund directly supports the creation and development of curricular and co-curricular programs that provide our students with this unparalleled living-learning honors experience. Through our mission-driven programs, we help students explore their intellectual curiosity, gain hands-on knowledge, learn through interdisciplinary collaboration, grow by serving their communities, and experience together the strength and support of a close-knit diverse community built on compassion for one another.

Among other opportunities, this fund supports dedicated research funding, the Honors College live-in Faculty Fellow program, global academic engagements, 80+ co-curricular programs and events each year for building community, student leadership development and opportunities, events and trips designed to serve others and reflect on our roles and responsibilities within our communities, dedicated academic advising on-site, as well as enriched professional development through coaching and professional experiences. All of our outstanding students benefit from this fund, as these resources and our staff provide a deep network of support enabling them all to explore, grow, and thrive and to pursue a career with purpose.

Why are donations necessary?
Giving to the Honors College Academic Excellence Fund will help us continue to build on the legacy of honors at Rutgers, by providing world-class academic experiences that truly help prepare our students for the world they will enter after college where new knowledge is being developed in ever shorter cycles. To help students learn about meaningful work and to be flexible enough to be able to adapt, we focus on collaboration in small teams so that they may share knowledge and perspectives and ultimately learn from each other. We also help students develop essential skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, social interaction, persistence, creativity, and introspection so they may contribute meaningfully to society and succeed in life.
